Our Orchard

"The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second-best time is today."

Taking Root

The project we are carrying out in Saint-Louet has quite literally taken root. Through an agroforestry approach, trees form the foundation of our vision for Saint-Louet.

We have taken on the challenge of bringing bocage meadows back into production, restoring soil life, replanting trees and bushes to grow fruit trees such as apples, pears, plums, figs, and peaches.

Using grafted seedlings and transplants tended by our own hands in our nursery, we replanted the young trees in 2023 and 2024.

So far, we have planted 3 hectares of a diverse, nourishing orchard, featuring half-standard fruit trees, accompanied by service trees that fix nitrogen and provide habitats for beneficial wildlife.

The orchard will bear its first fruits in 2 to 3 years.

A Vision for a Regenerative Future

We stand at a crossroads toward a transitioning world, one that is carbon-positive, respectful of biodiversity, and actively restoring it.
Saint-Louet and the restoration of this land is an opportunity to create a new world, one of sharing, in which trees are the backbone.

This agricultural endeavour plays a vital role in reconnecting us with the non-human living world, bringing us closer to nature by stimulating our five senses. At Saint-Louet, you can live in the heart of nature and enjoy what it has to offer.

Beyond planting and caring for the trees, we envision transforming harvested products and developing complementary farming projects to sustain and nourish the land.

Join Us in Growing Saint-Louet

But Saint-Louet still needs more trees—and more friends to share in its journey.

If this project resonates with you, we invite you to join "Les Amis de Saint-Louet" to experience Saint-Louet, to give and receive, to build something together. Because together, we go further.

Visit us for a short stay in a tent or our Tiny House, support us from afar, come and volunteer, share our story with those around you… Let this project grow in co-creation with you.

This orchard is just the beginning of a long story…
